Recent Developments at Killyon GAA

Killyon GAA has completed several improvement projects in recent years, including a new kitchen, a new hall floor, and the repainting of the hall and dressing rooms – to name just a few.

In recent months, we’ve also begun work on an exciting new development: our dedicated training grounds.

This project includes:

  • A full-size pitch with goals and catch nets
  • A smaller pitch designed for our Go Games and juvenile teams (up to U11)
  • Ample car parking
  • Temporary dressing rooms

The first phase involved levelling and grading the land to prepare it for the pitches and car park. Seeding of the pitches was completed in late September.

The next phase will involve installing goals and catch nets on both pitches, with work expected to begin in Spring 2026. A number of fundraising events held earlier this year played a key role in getting this project off the ground.

Upcoming Development Plans

We’ve recently secured planning permission to install a new perimeter fence and a walking track with lighting around our main pitch. Work is expected to begin in 2026, subject to approval of a funding grant. We’ll share further updates as they become available.
